Pesto isn't just for basil anymore! Join Lauren of Raleigh's Hillside Farm to explore the wild world of pesto. Made with cilantro, parsley, kale, arugula, or carrot tops, every green you use imparts a different flavor into this versatile sauce. Sample an array of different pestos, choose your favorite and work with Lauren to create your own recipes. Attendees will take 2-3 jelly jars of homemade pesto back home with them when the day is done!
A free copy of Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN will be given away to every family, couple and/or household registered for a particular workshop (a $26.95 value); the free book giveaway is limited to one copy per residential address of attendees.
About Lauren Rudersdorf:
Lauren Rudersdorf owns and operates Raleigh's Hillside Farm with her husband Kyle on land that has been in her family for four generations. Lauren and Kyle grow 150+ varieties of organic fruits and vegetables for their small CSA. When Lauren's not on the farm, you can find her writing about farm life on any scrap of paper she can find, in Madison working part-time at FairShare CSA Coalition or up in her kitchen testing recipes and snapping pictures for her blog The Leek & The Carrot.
