Phon[e]y: the Prelude is a dance theater performance that illuminates the unseen cost of our digital lives. It travels from the familiar glow of everyday phone dependence into the shadows of resource extraction, mine collapses, and the human stories embedded within our devices. Through movement, sound, and ritual, the piece explores how technology shapes our relationships, our attention, and our sense of humanity while uncovering the minerals, labor, and lives that make our "convenience" possible.
