Portlands cinematic ensemble Federale conjures a world where spaghetti western soundtracks collide with dark desert blues. Their music is drenched in reverb, dust, and the ghost of Morricone a widescreen sound that gallops between heartbreak and gun smoke. With haunting vocals, gallant horns, and a hypnotic rhythm that feels half ritual, half showdown, Federale turn every performance into a fever dream of lost highways and burning sunsets.

Between his work fronting TK & The Holy Know-Nothings and his 2017 solo debut Wannabe, Taylor Kingman is no stranger to darkness. But here he transcends the desolate rock bottom Hollow Sound whispers, then howls us into that place beyond brokenness where breathing begins again. Listening to these songs feels like laying down bare on the wet, unforgiving earth, pushing your fingers into the soil, and finding solace in the wholeness of who we are filth and all. Kingman pulls no punches in his writing and demands the same honesty from those who listen.
