Music Recording Workshop
Come join us for an educational workshop focused on microphone techniques for recording electric music. During this five hour workshop, we will record a full song by a real band in the studio, focusing on techniques for recording drums, electric guitar and bass, and vocals. Our guest band will be 1947.
After the workshop, you will receive the full set of audio files we recorded, so you can experiment with mixing them yourself at home.
Topics will include:
- Different types of microphones and their characteristics
- Choosing a microphone for a particular application
- Simple mic setups for home recording
- The effects of mic placement
- The importance of phase alignment
- Comparing common mic setups for
drums, bass, guitar and vocals
