Learn the basics of hand building while we make a hot cocoa mug just in time for winter holidays! We will use the technique of building something with coils, and learn some terminology such as kiln, bisque-ware, and glaze.
Please note that this is a two class event. Our first class we will make the mug and two weeks later return to glaze it.
Thursday 11/21: Building
Thursday 12/05: Glazing
Ages 5 years and up.
Rayne Knapp is a current Peregrine Elementary teacher, and a longtime ceramicist. They began creating in clay during high school, and continued to focus on ceramics while getting their bachelor's degree in studio art at UC Davis. In the last decade, they have had experience in teaching pottery/wheel-throwing, but mainly focus on sculptural ceramics in their personal work.
