Sourdough 101 Class

Overview:

The goal behind this class is to show how accessible sourdough is to everyone. I want to demystify this beautiful method of bread making and show that it really doesnt have to be complicated. Anyone can make a beautiful loaf of sourdough, and how far you go with it is up to you. You will learn the basics of making sourdough and leave with the tools you need to carry on what you learn to your everyday life.

What you will need to bring:

-Large Mixing bowl
-Tea towel
-Kitchen Scale that measures grams
-Apron (optional)

What you will want to have at home:

-Dutch oven
-Parchment paper

What you will take home with you:

-Proofing Basket
-Scoring Lame
-Danish Whisk
-Dough Scraper
-The knowledge and skills needed to begin your sourdough journey

Hello! My name is Kimberly Pynch. I was born and raised in Wenatchee, WA. I am a wife and mom of three beautiful little girls, and I am passionate about living a holistic lifestyle. I started baking sourdough when I wanted an option to have bread without all the extra ingredients that you find in the store bought loaves. In the process, I have fallen in love with the smell, flavor and texture of homemade sourdough. I began selling my bread to community members in 2023 and it has been an absolute hit. My first sourdough class I taught was in my kitchen one day with a small group of women. We had the best time learning and socializing together between steps. It was in my kitchen that day that I realized the awesome opportunity and privilege it would be to offer classes to the community. I truly hope these classes can start a community and cultivate conversation that is equally as precious to you all as it has been to me.
