Open Office Hours for WSDA Local Food System Infrastructure Grant
Join WSU Regional Small Farms and the Kitsap Conservation District for our virtual open office hours discussing the Spring 2024 WSDA Local Food Systems Infrastructure Grant. This is a time for farmers to get questions answered from local resource representatives and former grant reviewers.
The Local Food System Infrastructure Grant program supports local food supply chains and market access for farms, ranches, food processors, and food distributors. The intention is to fund projects that expand and strengthen collaboration across linkages in the regional food supply chain.
This virtual offering will include overview and discussion of the following topics:
- Brief overview of grant, including allowable costs and ineligible costs
- Making your application shine: tips to make your grant stand out
- New and beginning farmer focus: What infrastructure is most needed (pack shed, walk in or coolbot, field transportation/processing, etc)
- Thinking ahead to next year's opportunities
- Q&A with local agriculture resource representatives and former grant reviewers.
In addition to this local opportunity, the WSDA has scheduled helpful applicant workshops and provides information and assistance via their grants webpage: https://agr.wa.gov/departments/business-and-marketing-support/small-farm/infrastructure-grant/
