Clothing: Power, Story, and Connections

Join us for a conversation with Robin Little Wing Sigo discussing the power and story of clothing and textiles--what they mean, and why we should care about and for our fabrics.

Robin is a member of the Suquamish Tribal Council, head of the Suquamish Foundation, mother of 4 children,Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, and the Head of the Sovereign Style fashion show. She was also designated one of Tara Simmon's Champions of Justice this year, and was one of our ReFashion Bainbridge judges this past year.

She will be talking with Naomi Spinak, head of ReFashion Bainbridge. We will follow the conversation with a question and answer session.

We would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which we gather is within the ancestral territory of the suqab People of Clear Salt Water (Suquamish People). Expert fisherman, canoe builders and basket weavers, the suqab live in harmony with the lands and waterways along Washingtons Central Salish Sea as they have for thousands of years. Here, the suqab live and protect the land and waters of their ancestors for future generations as promised by the Point Elliott Treaty of 1855.

Any donations made at this event will be divided between The Suquamish Foundation Land Fund and Sustainable Bainbridge.
