Rogue Barrister Records along with Three Angels Brewing, The
United City of Yorkville, and the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce proudly present "Summer Solstice", the ultimate pairing of ground to glass brewed beverages and independent music sure to shake the tree tops. Once again, the scenic Fox River will serve as the backdrop for this unique event in historic downtown Yorkville.
The Giving Tree Band , Nikki Lane, and The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank , Vision, and Noah Harris will anchor the stellar lineup of independent music on Friday night and Cory Chisel, Communist Daughter, Jim Oblon, the Heavy Guilt Duo, Calvin Conway, Kevin Presbrey, and the Ethan Bell Band will be performing Saturday night. Tickets for admission to Saturday's festivities will be free if you arrive prior to 5 p.m. and $5 after that time with all proceeds to benefit Madi Beetham in her fight against cancer. Admission to Friday's festivities are free of charge with a small fee required for wristbands to purchase alcohol for attendees 21 and over.
Three Angels Brewing with the help of good friends Superior Beverage will be hosting an exclusive craft beer tasting from 12:00 to 5:00 on Saturday. Participating breweries include Three Angels, Brooklyn, Ommegang, Widmer Brothers, Central Waters, Kona, Redhook, Goose Island, Ale Syndicate, Uinta, Milwaukee, Founders, Cahoots, Middle Brow, Hopvine, Solemn Oath, Dry Hop, Pigs Mind and Pollyanna. The $20 cost of admission will include admission to the indie music concert, a commemorative glass with 10 (4) oz. tastings. Tickets and Supplies will be limited. Additional tastings may be available for purchase while supplies last.
For the adventurous type make sure to get your reservation early for a flotilla on the Fox River from Saw-wee-kee Park to Yorkville. Transportation is provided from festival grounds to the launch site. The launch will be from Saw-wee-kee at around 10:30 a.m. and the armada of canoes will land at the festival site at a time directly related to the ambition of the individual paddlers. Admission fees include a canoe for 2 adults (children optional), pizza donated by Rosati's pizza, and admission for two to the concert.
