Moral Hazard

Moral Hazard, a new scripted comedy performance, weaves together elements of Chicago's emerging solo sketch, storytelling, and political satire forms to explore the roots and consequences of America's "Great Recession."

Audiences will follow Delaney on his sudden and sobering path from naive college graduate to 'Account Manager' at a local auto finance company, collecting payments from customers struggling to keep their heads above water. Goodman takes a step back to look at some of the issues from outsourcing, to misguided government policies, to the explosion of financial innovation that together led America to the brink of financial collapse.

The piece is written and performed by local comedians Walt Delaney and Chandler Goodman. Delaney is newly off his appearance in The TomKat Project. Goodman recently finished a performance run of his solo sketch comedy show, Chandler Goodman Thinks Sports are Important. Both have studied at the Second City & iO Chicago, and perform sketch comedy and improv in venues spanning the city. Moral Hazard is directed by veteran Chicago writer & improviser Mark Logsdon.
