Anders & Kendall House Concert

Roots Hoot House Concerts presents the duo Anders & Kendall on Saturday, November 9. Anders is Anders Parker of indie-rock Varnaline band fame and more recently as part of the Woody Guthrie project New Multitudes along with Jay Farrar, Jim James and Will Johnson. Kendall is Kendall Meade, best known for her own indie rock band Mascott, as well as a contributing vocalist to albums from the likes of Sparklehorse, Lloyd Cole, Helium and The Spinanes. The friendship and collaborations between the two date back to the 1990s and while they've always wanted to do a record together, it has taken until the here and now and the new release Wild Chorus for it to finally come to fruition. The album features 11 nicely crafted and highly melodic tunes of the folk pop and roll variety on which each gets to shine both by their lonesome and in harmony together. The songs are all catchy and good taking the listener from the harmony homerun of opener "We're On Fire, Babe" to "Oh Love" with its seductive reverb backdrop to the ready made pop of "City of Greats".
