Acting Monologues
Virtual Course via Zoom

Instructor: Bekka Eaton
Mondays
July 6, 13, 20, & 27
11:30 am - 1:00 pm

$60 per person
Ages: 16+

As a class (Zoom or some other program), we will explore believable and purposeful movement, vocal techniques and acting principles. We will use the concepts of given, imaginary and research-based circumstance in a text that lead to useful and effective actor choices. Each student will work on one short monologue and one longer one.

Bekka Eaton teaches and directs theatre at Miami University Regionals where her emphasis is on new plays and creating actor-generated texts. She received her BS in Theatre from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and her MFA in Acting from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Bekka is also a professional actor (AEA & SAG/AFTRA). Her acting history includes stage, television, and film credits. Recently, she received a Best Actress nomination from The League of Cincinnati Theatres for best female actor in The Mad Anthony Theatre Companys production of Light Sensitive Jim Geoghan. Recent roles include Martha in Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee and Anna in Our Mothers Brief Affair by Richard Greenberg. She began her professional career as a resident company member in Chicagos famed The Second City. She then enjoyed a long stage career as a performance artist, artistic director, and writer. Bekka also has logged over 2000 hours in recording studios as both a singer and producer.

How will I know how to connect to my class?

Bonnie, OCACs Administrative Administrative Assistant will email out the Zoom link to students each week. This will help avoid any confusion that would arise from sending multiple links at once.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office at (513) 524-8506 or info@oxarts.org.
