Join Treehouse Shakers for one of our Three Exciting Virtual Summer Camps.

Early Bird Special May 15th-30th.

July 6-10, 2020 Playwriting Camp
with renown Playwright, Brian Hampton (ages 10-14)
$350 for Early Bird Registration, $475 after May 30
Times 11AM to 2PM EST

Enjoy a week-long virtual camp with renowned playwright, Brian Hampton, for ages 10-14. Brian uses a dynamic, fun, and interactive approach that supports young writers while they create an original 3-5 minute completed play. The program will culminate with THS professional company actors performing the students scripts. Writers at all levels enjoy success. Young people have the opportunity to create irreplaceable characters and explore actions and their consequences, all the while gaining confidence, techniques for solving problems, essential language skills, and knowledge of playwriting. Times 11AM to 2PM EST, with a lunch-writing break.

About Brian Hampton
Brian started writing plays in middle school and has continued to write and teach playwriting at universities, high schools, middle schools, and performing arts camps across the country -- including Northern Stage Company's young playwrights program, Project Playwright. His plays include: Gossip (which has been produced worldwide), USERNAME (which was published this year), and The Jungle Fun Room (which was produced Off-Broadway, in the New York International Fringe Festival, and regionally). Brian is passionate about theatre and helping writers find their voice, express their unique stories, and reveal new perspectives. Brian is also an actor (Stage: The Jungle Fun Room, Checking In, Meeting Matt Damon, Big River. TV: American Housewife, Coop & Cami Ask the World, I Feel Bad, Schooled), and he loves to use that experience to help writers create that perfect actor-friendly dialogue. Brian received his BA in Theatre from Christopher Newport University, his MFA in Playwriting from Spalding University, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Actors Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA.
