Help Wildlife & Become a Habitat Steward!
SUPPORT WILDLIFE! SIGN UP TO BECOME A HABITAT STEWARD!
The National Wildlife Federation, in partnership with the King County WaterWorks Grant Program, is offering a specialized, multi-week webinar workshop to teach you how to help others create and restore wildlife habitat in backyards, schoolyards, and other private and public areas. You get to meet and learn from local conservation professionals and other similarly interested folks while participating in this interactive, fun and highly informative webinar!
Benefits include: a NWF volunteer t-shirt, an optional work party, a comprehensive training manual with local resources, instruction from local professionals, and continued support from NWF staff.
Expert speakers will present on topics such as:
-Gardening for wildlife -Identifying native plants -Managing noxious weeds -Fungi in the Pacific Northwest -And much more!
Classes will take place April 21st, April 28th, May 5th and May 12th from 6:00 - 9:00 pm via a free video conference platform. On May 10th, participating Habitat Stewards will get hands-on experience installing a water-wise garden. The garden installation work-party is optional; please plan on a full day!
*Scholarships are available! No one will be turned down due to lack of funds. Email WAEducation@nwf.org for more information.

***As part of the training, volunteers commit to completing 30 hours of habitat-related volunteer service within 1 year following graduation from the program.
