COLONIAL HEARTH COOKING
Join us as Dennis Picard, a local living history expert and museum professional, demonstrates how to cook a colonial Thanksgiving dinner featuring chicken (much more common than turkey historically), Hasty Pudding, and roasted root vegetables at the hearth in the Whitman Tavern! Perfect for beginners and a treat for the gastronome in your life, spend the afternoon learning hands on or sit back and observe. Dennis will share anecdotes about New England colonial life while demonstrating how to start a fire in the hearth, cook on the hearth, and at the end of the session sample the results! Bring an apron and your appetite! Members: $20; Non-members: $25.
Stanley-Whitman House is a living history center and museum that teaches through the collection, preservation, research, and dynamic interpretation of the history and culture of early Farmington.
