Comedy at the Grove with Josh Phillips

Comedy at the Grove welcomes back Oak Ridge native Josh Phillips for an entertaining evening filled with laughs! Special guest and feature Moody Molavi of Chattanooga and Knoxville's own Michael Sayne as your host. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and show starts at 8:00 PM. Concessions will be available for purchase in the lobby. You must be 18 to enter.

Josh Phillips is a native Oak Ridger who has been a standup comedian for 12 years. In that time he has been seen on Comedy Club stages in 49 of the 50 states, On many TV shows including Homicide Hunter on the Investigation Discovery channel and the Walking Dead. You can see him right here in Oak Ridge!

Moody Molavi

Born in Iran to an Iranian father and an American mother, Moody learned at an early age how to read the comedic moment in any situation. His family moved to the southern United States in 1981, where Moody used comedy to escape the multitudes of adverse moments in his young life. He was bullied by Iranians for being an American, and by Americans for being an Iranian. Moody married his high school sweetheart, who later became his stepsister through the marriage of their parents to each other. Thats where the fun begins as Moody skillfully shares his life experiences as an Iranian Southern Bapt-costal Uncle Daddy.

Michael Sayne

Michael Sayne is new to comedy, hitting the stage for the first time in July 2018. Michaels comedy is heavily influenced by his newly discovered bachelorhood and status as primary parent to his 8 and 17 year old kids. Youll find Michael performing weekly at open mics around Knoxville and may have seen him opening shows produced at Hexagon Brewing, Last Days of Autumn, and the Sunnight Lounge. Michael recently hosted Promedy at the historic Grove Theater and is producing his first comedy showcase set to premiere in June.
