The Self Taught Herbalist, Part 2
Herbalism is a vast jungle of information that can be difficult to navigate without the right tools.
In this second part of the workshop, we will be focusing on book knowledge, and researching all the facets of a single herb. We will be interacting with various resources (both internet and book) and doing actual research. The second half of the class will focus on putting together your personal materia medica, and assessing the next steps for your herbal education.
This class is the follow up to The Self Taught Herbalist, Part 1.
In this second part of the class, we will be focusing on
- Book knowledge
- hands on research skills
- Putting together your personal materia medica
- Assessing what the next steps are for your education
- A few tips on remembering everything
PLEASE BRING: A notebook and pen. A laptop or other internet accessing device. Your favorite herbal reference book.

Natalie is a local herbal educator and clinical herbalist who runs the Adiantum School of Plant Medicine. She has been studying herbalism for 10 years, and will never be done learning! In addition to teaching herself, she has studied under several herbalists, most notably Cascade Anderson Geller and Matthew Wood. She believes in the power of curiosity and direct experience!
