Lake Hartwell Music Festival to Benefit HYDRA 2

The Second Annual Lake Hartwell Music Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 24.

Following up the great show we had last year, this year's event is already proving to be an eagerly-anticipated day. We have had inquiries coming in from both musicians and music fans for several months. We are so excited to have Randall Bramblett & Geoff Achison Band headlining the event. These two super-musicians combine their virtuosic talents to make one of the best bands of the year! Bramblett and Achison soar with a razor-sharp rhythm section backing them up. It's a wonderful example of what can happen when two great musicians and songwriters put aside their egos and join forces. This band grooves so supremely it's like they're telepathic, and with their history, why wouldn't they be? Critics agree that when Geoff Achison and Randall Bramblett perform together it's a concert not to be missed. "Incendiary. That's the word. BURNIN' HOT. I have heard some great jam bands. I grew up on The Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, etc. But I have never, no NEVER, heard better jamming than I heard last night," wrote a reporter for the Atlanta Examiner after an Achison/Bramblett show. These musicians have played with the best of the best including Widespread Panic, The Band, The Allman Brothers, Steve Winwood, Derek Trucks Band, Stevie Wonder, Hot Tuna, Santana, Susan Tedeschi and many more.

We are excited to have regional favorites 3 & Twenty back for the 2nd LHMF! From the band's Reverbnation page: "3 and Twenty's music transends the limited boundaries of traditional and contemporary genres. It is Country at its highest evolutionary level that cross reverberates with a unique blend of hip hop, rock, and R&B. Combine their passion for song writing with a high energy, must see live show, and you have something that can't be explained it must be experienced."

John Atkinson and his band, Reservoir Dogs will hit the stage with a set featuring southern rock. With Cain Harper on drums, Rich Smith on guitar and Tony Stewart on bass, they are sure to have the crowd rocking.

The Hot Dam Blues Band will deliver some hot blues. Featuring Bobby Bond on keyboards, Ethan Crump on guitar, Walter Gordon on harmonica, Daniel Gordon on drums, Paige Gordon, vocals and Marshall Walker on bass, this group shows that having the blues can be a very, very good thing.

The Big Durty, featuring Ethan Crump, Brett Tattnall, and Leon Campbell will deliver blues/jazz influenced funk that will let you get your groove on.

Combining the abundance of great music with vendors selling food, snacks and crafts, and the beautiful waters of Lake Hartwell as a backdrop, this will be an amazing holiday-weekend event.

Tickets are $10 before the day of the show and $15 the day of the show. The excitement begins at 4 pm; bring the family, bring some chairs and bring a cooler, no glass, this is a party with a purpose, and all proceeds will benefit HYDRA.

HYDRA is a non-profit community group located in Hartwell, GA. HYDRA offers year-round programs that provide support, education and encouragement for our youth. HYDRA plays an active, important role in the future of our community through development programs for our young citizens. HYDRA is able to offer these programs through government funding and the financial support of sponsors like you. All contributions from this event go toward supporting the programs HYDRA offers such as: Baby Think It Over, LifeSkills Training, Tutoring, Law Ed Diversion Program, Mentoring, Respect, School Break and Summer Camps: Exciting Summer Camp themes: "The Next Top Scientist" Science Camp, "What's all this Drama?" Drama Camp, "All Around the World" Culture Camp, "Fun in the Sun" Activity Camp, "Astronomy" Camp, "Meet the Stars of the Community" Camp. Community Field Trips are included in many of these adventures!
