I started a jam night at king Neptune's in sunset beach 6 years ago and it is still going on Thursday nights... That's about it.. Other than the reports of my death are a little stretched. people are wondering what happened to me.. I had 3 world tours offered to me and I was engaged for 2yrs and had an 8 month old baby boyI threw an engagement party And that night, a drunk driver hit us head on and my wife and son and 3 band members were killed and I never sang again in public till 6 years ago. Now I'm back With 30 + years of rock and roll built up inside me I just went underground for a long time
I've been through a world of pain and I'm back to inspire others with my music and heart"

* RITA JEAN'S INSPIRATIONAL STORY about how our open mic / jam opportunities in the early 90s inspired her to create her own band.......
"The very first time I saw you was at Centerfield's on Beach Blvd in H.B.. I was a regular in there cuz I lived near by and I started doing a new thing called "Karaoke" lol! I was also puppy-dogging after Micheal Ubaldini at that time (whom I also met in Centerfield's) and he was the first person to tell me that I was better than just doing Karaoke and encouraged me to start talking to people in bands. Then I saw YOU on stage there. You were the very first cover band I saw that was fronted by a girl! I was so excited, I ran up to you afterwards and asked you, "How can I be like you?" You were SO NICE to me and invited me to what is now "Out of Bounds" on Brookhurst and Atlanta. I don't remember singing, but I do remember you showed me how to play the tambourine and I played off to the side of the stage cuz I had no idea what I was doing! Lol! THEN, I went to see my brother in-law Jay Wise play somewhere (I think this is the place you are thinking of) and I walked in and there you were! I sat next to you and Then you told me all about your divorce (it was fresh at the time) and about your 6 kids.
It was some time after that where you had me up on stage...
