Horses Used as Draft Animals class at Landis Valley
Gain a different perspective of driving and horsemanship in this interactive class. From the first day, you'll learn the history of draft horses, the types of harness, and how to put it on. Then, you'll set off on a wagon, driving various hitches of horses around the village of Landis Valley. Fieldwork will be covered as well, if time and weather permit. New: a half-day field trip to either a harness shop or a carriage shop.
*You must be able to lift 40 lbs*
Class is part of Landis Valley's 2018 Summer Institute.
Times to Remember:
Breakfast: 8-9 a.m.
Lunch: 12-1 p.m.
Class Times: 9 a.m. - Noon; 1-4 p.m.

Please note that prices quoted include a catered breakfast and lunch in the Yellow Barn each day for Institute participants. If you choose to forgo the meals, please choose the NO-MEAL pricing option, which is $20 less per day you are participating in Institute.
Cancellation Policy:
Registrations will be taken up until June 1. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration. Students can make another choice or receive a full refund. Please read the information in your confirmation regarding any materials/tools you may need.
Students must be age 18 or older. Please visit our website, www.landisvalleymuseum.org, for more information on Institute. Landis Valley Associates (LVA) members receive 5% off their registration. If you are a member, please check our website for the code listed with the class and enter it in the "Discount Code" field at checkout.
