Intro to Herbalism
In the first part of this two-hour intro class, you will learn about basic concepts of holistic western herbalism, safety, dosage, preparations and the six tissues states. Learning this type of foundational knowledge will help you get better success with herbs, and use them with more intention and awareness. If you've ever been frustrated with books telling you that an herb is "good for headaches," then this class might help you get beyond such oversimplification and begin to understand the complexities of our bodies.
In the second part of the class, we'll cover commonly used western herbs and their uses, and where to find resources with good information.
This is a great class for both complete beginner and even people who have been dabbling for a few years. This is also a great introduction to the school if you're considering taking the Foundations of PNW herbalism course, or the Apprenticeship course.
Bring a notebook, come with questions, and be ready to learn. Natalie is a fast-paced teacher, and she likes to cover as much as possible in the time.
