The Enneagram and Gambling Addiction Recovery, a Chemical Dependency Training Consortium Event
The Enneagram is a personality style model which helps us to understand, respect, and engage with different personalities in a diverse manner. This intermediate level training will explore the utilization of the Enneagram Model as a tool for understanding personality and integrating this frame of reference into the context of addiction treatment and recovery support. Clinicians can use the Enneagram and other personality models to assist those they serve with understanding and guiding their recovery paths. This training will explore the use of the Enneagram for supporting patient recovery efforts. Clinicians will practice identification of their Enneagram style. Styles will be discussed in the context of personal growth and practicing dysfunction.  The clinical application of the Enneagram for assessment and treatment of Gambling Addiction will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity to adapt this intervention method to other recovery and relapse situations.

Participants of this training will:
Learn the nine different personality styles of the Enneagram model,
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of personality model applications to recovery,
Observe the use of personality models in addiction treatment groups, specifically in the context of Gambling Addiction Treatment,
Learn assessment tools for gambling addiction and recovery, and
Practice relapse prevention techniques and awareness related to personality styles and recovery from behavioral addictions.
