Montclaire is the incantation of Portland-based singer/songwriter Sabrina Velazquez.
Velazquez originally gained a large following in her hometown of Honolulu, HI before releasing her first EP The Anomaly in 2009. Before long, she found herself with a dedicated fan base and landed a coveted spot at SXSW 2010. She released her first full-length album, The Hawk & The Hunter in 2010, produced by John Askew (Richmond Fontaine, The Dodos, Alela Diane). The album didn't just garner her a larger audience, but a west coast tour, and a spot opening for Cat Power, whom her sound has been compared to. 2012's "In the Light of Morning" saw Sabrina explore a new sound that included layers pianos and vocals under a new moniker, Montclaire. In 2015, she released 65 songs over the course of 100 days as a part of the 100 day project. After a year away from recording to focus on songwriting, she is back in the studio demoing new songs for a release in 2017.
With the songwriting chops to craft both hooky, pop-rock gems such as Right Way and moody torch songs like Fast As I Can, and a voice that makes them come alive, Velazquez sounds ready for the big time. - Honolulu Magazine

G. Liu Jr. is a part of The Drowning Dreamers Band, an indie chamber folk ensemble, from Honolulu, HI, with a slate gray streak of shoegaze post-rock, running through its middle.
With its debut, self-titled album, the band hopes to provide a fitting backdrop, in case youve found yourself in the midst of your next north Atlantic passage, Arctic expedition, Death Valley breakfast, Nebraskan power outage, or even just a momentary, extra bit of restlessness, in a dim or confined space you call home. But if there are other heightened scenarios, for which they may be of service, they hope youll let them know.
