Night Sweats: Sex and Menopause

Who says menopause is the end of sex? Spend an evening with Jacq to explore the impact Peri-Menopause and Menopause can have on your body and your sex life.

We'll explore the physical and emotional impact Peri-Menopause and Menopause, discuss ways of managing and celebrating the changes and continue to celebrate your sexuality in the second half of your life.

In this class you'll learn:
The difference between peri-menopause and menopause
How to deal with decreases in lubrication, sensation and/or libido
How to mourn and celebrate the changes in your body
Pelvic exercises - work those kegels! And how to make them fun!
And why masturbation is critical to a successful sex life during and after menopause

Jacq has been teaching about sex and menopause for three years. In that time, it has become one of her favorite topics. She has presented on this topic at both Sugar and the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival.

Jacq is the owner of Sugar and has been working in sex education and reproductive health care since 1994. She has taught classes on sex, sexual techniques and relationships around the country at diverse venues including: multiple colleges and universities, Sugar, Momentum Con, The DC Eagle, community based organizations in Baltimore City, the Maryland AIDS Administration, Dark Odyssey, Babeland (NYC), and The Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. In addition, she has provided countless individuals and couples with individualized instruction and coaching.

Jacq has a degree in Women's Studies and has worked in Reproductive Healthcare and Sexuality Education as a manager, educator and educational counselor since 1994. She is certified in both HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral (MD, CT and MN) and Sexual Assault Advocacy (Ramsey County, MN).
