A 6-week in depth course on Ogam
With renowned author and Celtic scholar Erynn Rowan Laurie
Join author and poet Erynn Rowan Laurie in a journey through the early Irish ogam. More than just a tree alphabet, ogam is a forest of possibilities for poetry, divination, spiritual work, healing, and magic. Examine historical contexts, origin stories, poetic codes, and modern innovations with the author of Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom. Taking this course will give you the tools to create your own spiritual and magical philosophy centered in the use of this fascinating system.
Erynn Rowan Laurie has been practicing various forms of polytheistic, animist spirituality since 1984. An author, poet, and professional madwoman, Erynn writes and teaches about the sacred arts of Filidecht, or Gaelic poetic spirituality. Originally from New England, Erynn lived for decades in the US Pacific Northwest and currently resides on the shores of the Adriatic in Trieste, Italy. Erynns books include Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom and the poetry collection Fireflies at Absolute Zero. Details about this course:
What:
--Online course delivery via video lecture and online learning management system
--6 weekly live video meetings with additional readings and course content
--Spaces limited to 10 students to ensure students have individual teacher guidance
When:
--Sunday November 13 thru Sunday December 18, 2016
--Sunday course meetings 1.5-2 hours, starting at 11 am PST/ 8 pm CET
--Registration opens September 15 2016
Cost:
--Sliding Scale cost starting at $180 ($30 per class session)
--Limited scholarships based on availability
Questions & Answers:
--What if I want to sign up but I'll have to miss one or more of the class meetings? Video lectures will also be recorded and available for later viewing by class members
--I can't afford the course! How can I request a scholarship? Up to two places will be reserved for scholarships. You can email the class coordinator, Morpheus, to have your name put on the list for a scholarship. Availability of scholarships will be based on funds above the minimum being paid in on the sliding scale by paying registrants. Email morpheus@corupriesthood.com with your name and amount of scholarship funding you need.
--What materials will I need for the course? You'll need a copy of Erynn's Book, Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom. Additional readings may be assigned and we'll update this information when the list becomes available.
--What if I register and then I need to cancel? We will be happy to offer you a full refund through 11/1/2016. Cancellations after that date will be refunded less a $50 cancellation fee through 11/12. No refunds will be available on or after the day the course begins, 11/13/2016.
--Can I sign up for individual classes? This course is designed as a complete package of lessons that build on one another, so we are not offering a drop-in option.
