Tony Couch 4 Day Watercolor Painting Workshop
Anyone 18 yrs. or older is eligible to attend the upcoming watercolor painting workshop by Tony Couch. Classes are made up of beginners, hobbyists, students and professionals. The class is necessarily limited in size on a "first come" basis...you'll work hard, but Tony Couch will show you how to have fun doing it. The eight Principles of Design will be cut down to size and each day you will see how they are applied to watercolor painting. You will learn something valuable and practice it on the spot, coming away with increased understanding and several watercolor paintings of your own of which you will be proud.
Watercolor classes generally start at 9:00 each morning. After a brief talk on the day's objectives, Tony Couch will do a complete painting, telling you what he's doing as he does it, and why. The "mysteries" of design will be unraveled for you while you learn watercolor painting!
At noon we break for lunch, then YOU paint in the afternoon while what you have seen and learned is fresh in your mind. It's the fastest way to learn how to paint.
At about 3:30 Tony critiques all the work produced during the day, including his own. It's a time at which much is learned by all. By 5:00 we're finished. Of course, you may come and go as you wish at any time.

There are two blocks of Oxford hotel rooms we have available at a special rate. For each one, you will need to contact the Oxford hotel directly, you will be unable to book these rates online or with a national reservation number. They are:
Best Western (6 East Sycamore Street, Oxford, OH 45056) - Located just over half a mile from the Oxford Community Arts Center, the Best Western is located on the northern boundary of Oxford's mile square. It has a pool and plenty of parking. To make reservations call (513) 523-0000 and mention the "Tony Couch Workshop" rate.
Tony Couch Workshop Rate: $88/night plus taxes (parking is free)
The Elms Hotel (75 South Main Street, Oxford, OH 45056) - Located in the heart of downtown Oxford and just two blocks from the Oxford Community Arts Center, this hotel has dedicated parking spaces and a restaurant with a bar. To make reservations call (513) 524-2002 and mention the "Tony Couch Workshop" rate.
Tony Couch Workshop Rate: $119.95 + taxes (per night July 8th thru 11th), $139.95 + taxes (on July 12th). Parking costs $6/night per vehicle.
There are other hotels near Oxford, but we don't have any special rates with them. One that is just four blocks away is the Hampton Inn at 375 South College Avenue located in a shopping area with free parking.
