| | ÉvénementThe Waynewood Boys with Escaping PavementCorn belt meets rust belt with The Waynewood Boys, a bluegrass quartet made up of Detroiter Hugh Fader, rural Illinois-bred Tom Megli, and southeast Michigan natives Mike Francis and Keith Buchanan. Megli's spot-on guitar chops mixed with Fader's hard-driving banjo set the band's tone,  while Francis's energetic fiddle and mandolin work and Buchanan's rock-solid bass lines keep it rolling. Entrancing vocals with crisp harmonies complete the picture to make for a high, lonesome, Motor City-influenced sound.
The Boys' repertoire includes traditional bluegrass and country numbers from legends such as Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and Jimmie Rodgers. The smart melodies and lyrics of original compositions like Fader's tragic tale of infidelity and dismemberment, One Arm Jake, and Megli's melancholy ballad, Train offer insight into the creative minds of these seasoned musicians. Supplementing their tight musical performances, their on-stage humor and wit engages the audience and keeps them smiling throughout each show.

Escaping Pavements Emily Burns and Aaron Markovitz met one night at an open mic and since then theyve been inseparable. They were teen guitarists obsessed with roots music. Their debut album, UpRooted, represents a coming home to Americana from a 10-year long freewheeling musical quest.

The Detroit, Michigan-based duo masterfully blends and blurs the lines of country, folk, americana, and rock, garnering favorable comparisons to artists as diverse as The Band, Chris Robinson, tastemaker/producer T Bone Burnett, The Civil Wars, and Emmylou Harris. Their unique joint frontperson arrangement, with Emily and Aaron sharing equally in singing, songwriting, and guitar playing, allows for astounding musical interplay.
