Intellectual property (IP) law involves the protection of inventions, artistic, musical, and scientific expressions, and other intangible types of property. Areas encompassed by this field include copyright, trademark, patent, product or service branding, advertising, unfair competition, trade secrecy, cyberlaw, entertainment law, media law, and sports law.

The protection of intellectual property and encouragement of creativity will be explored. This Workshop also Explores copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, unfair competition, and selected state law theories. It provides students with a general working knowledge of the various intellectual property doctrines. We will assist you in knowing how to protect your work.

What to bring: Paper, writing utensil, folding chair and enthusiasm to learn! Feel free to bring your own snacks, but light refreshments and lunch will be provided.

*Well behaved children are welcome! There is no day care available, so children will have to sit in the class. This is a very appropriate learning experience for children serious about working in the field of entertainment.

Course Fee: $40.00 per household of up to 2 adults and 2 children (Includes instructional material and lunch) Additional family/children $5 to cover the lunch fee.
