SVRG Fall 2015 Bootcamp
SVRG is excited to bring back bootcamps for new skaters who are 18 years or older interested in learning how to play roller derby! Our bootcamps are co-ed, and are focused on helping you the skater pass your minimum skills in order to skate with the Silicon Valley Roller Girls or become a skating official.
If you cannot make this Fall session, don't worry... more will be available in 2016!
Dates: October 4 - November 22
Full Schedule:
Sundays: Unless otherwise noted, Sunday on skates sessions are from 11am-1pm at Silver Creek Sportsplex in San Jose. The watch parties are from 9:30-11 at Silver Creek in room 101.
Wednesdays: Unless otherwise noted, Wednesday sessions are from 7-9pm at Hogue Park in San Jose

Goal:
At the end of each bootcamp session, our goal for you (and the goal for yourself!) is to pass your WFTDA minimum skills so you can join SVRG as a full league member.
Bootcamp perks:
-Dedicated lessons and training from the most experienced skaters and coaches SVRG has to offer
-All bootcampers will receive a sticker
-Bootcampers with perfect attendance will get a special shirt so they can humble brag like no other
-In addition to registering their skater name and number with the league, and bootcamper who passes minimum skills will be invited to join the SVRG skater pool where they will further hone their skills and have the chance to be drafter to a team.
Required equipment:
-Quad roller skates
-Helmet
-Mouth guard
-Wrist guards
-Elbow pads
-Knee pads
-Water bottle (stay hydrated!)
In addition to the equipment listed above, all skaters must also purchase skater insurance through WFTDA. This is required, and you will not be allowed to skate without it. After registration closes on September 27, you will receive an email from our WFTDA representative on how to obtain insurance. This will need to be purchased prior to your bootcamp. The cost is $70, but may be pro-rated this late in the year.
... and don't forget, to get the best experience out of your bootcamp, start training now! Squats! Skate around in a parking lot to get your "sea legs" back. Run. Lift weights. Read the rules. We can't wait to see you this fall.
