Starting in the rural suburbs of Philadelphia, My Tiger follows a young mixed race boy as he grows into his adulthood. It is an examination of the mixed race experience in America, and the price people pay for their identity.
Nominated for "Best Dramatic Theatre" at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2025 (June), MY TIGER returns with fresh new scenes to Write Act Repertory at the Brickhouse Theatre in North Hollywood for a special extended run. Written and directed by Dionysius Vlachos, the show opens August 22 and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm through August 31.

Dionysius Vlachos Writer/Actor (Didi) Dee is a writer/actor from the Philadelphia suburbs. He received his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his masters from Savannah College of Art and Design. He currently works as an audio engineer for Warner Bros Studios in Los Angeles. You can also find him on his YouTube channel Courageous Eater, where he explores interesting restaurants around Los Angeles. My Tiger is his first play.
Stan Zhu Actor (Young Didi) Stan Zhu is an actor based in Los Angeles, originally from Chengdu, China. Stan has graduated from the Performing Arts Program at Savannah College of Art and Design. He has performed in over fifty films and several plays, including Moonlake, Kill the Roses, Cannibal: The Musical, and Marian: the True Tale of Robin Hood. Stan has won four acting awards and his work has gotten into multiple international film festivals, including China Golden Rooster Award, Lift-Off Tokyo, and Los Angeles Shorts.
Anshu Zeng Yuan Actor (Mom) Born and raised in mainland China, Anshu Zeng Yuan followed the traditional expectations of an Asian family and earned an engineering degree, only to leave it all behind in pursuit of a lifelong dream in filmmaking. This journey lead to Los Angeles, the worlds biggest dream factory. Anshus works have won awards and been selected at IMDb-qualifying and Canadian Screen-qualifying film festivals, including Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival, Asian Film Festival, Chinese American Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, and more. With a heart set on storytelling, Anshu strives to turn life into a journey as magical as The Alchemist.
Lonnie Sugarman Actor (Dad, Otis, Grandpa) Lonnie Sugarman was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up as a 3 sport athlete in his early life and played competitively until age 30. He then coached and officiated sports professionally. Hes proud to have started one of the first youth hockey programs in the San Gabriel Valley. A man of many talents, he also shows off his culinary skills in Italian cuisine. Following a life changing health scare, Lonnie decided to chase another dream and started acting. Hes appeared in popular feature films and TV shows. He is now studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and continues to grow both as a person and an actor as he pursues his new calling.
Rollence Patugan Actor/Producer (Ben) Rollence Patugan was last seen as Leontes in The Winters Tale at Pasadena City College Theater. Friends and family speculate that he may still be in character. His dream role would be to portray someone addicted to chocolate chip cookies, confidently claiming he would be a shoe-in for the part. He is deeply grateful to Dee for the chance to return to the stage, engaging with themes that are often discussed behind closed doors. His passion for storytelling and advocacy for meaningful dialogue serve as motivating factors behind his work.
Alison Iles Actor/Producer (Ally, Ms. Johnson, Debbie) Alison Iles is a Peruvian-American Actress and Singer based in Los Angeles. With years of experience at Speiser Sturges, Lesly Kahn, and Berg Studios. Alison has produced and acted in several short and feature films. You can see Alison in Glass Casa, on AppleTV and other streaming platforms.
Richmond Staunton-Keeling Actor (Roy, Brian, Brad) Richmond Keeling is an actor from Houston, Texas. He spends his time acting in small soap operas and performing as an extra in larger productions. Richmond is excited to be a part of all things creative and to help others bring their visions to life.
Edward Kiniry-Ostro Actor - Understudy (Roy, Brian, Brad) Edward Kiniry-Ostro has appeared in shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, and Arrested Development. He was a semifinalist at the Austin Film Festival for his Sci-Fi Feature, Lost in Music, and at ScreenCraft for his TV Pilot, The Great American Years, which he developed with Billy Porter. His web series, Roomiess, ran for two seasons receiving recognition from The Advocate. His short film, Hold Up Heart, screened at HollyShorts and international festivals. A founding member of the Grammy-nominated group The Silver Lake Chorus, he is a California Institute of the Arts graduate and has studied at IO West and The Groundlings. He lives in LA with his dope husband.
Mara Weisband Actor (Principal, Nurse) Mara Weisband never set out to be an actor. In fact, she was headed toward a PhD in Psychology before trading academia for New York City and the glamorous world of talent management. A colleague suggested she try stand-up comedy, and against her better judgment, she did. Since then, Mara has performed at iconic venues like Dangerfields, Broadway Comedy Club, and The Comedy Store. She went on to study sketch and improv at UCB, Leela, and Second City LA.
She is currently an advanced student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, where she recently performed in A Dolls House.From there, Mara wrote and starred in her one-woman show, Poacheda darkly funny exploration of what the conversation with ourselves really sounds like. It premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, where she discovered that sometimes the most awkward inner dialogues make for the biggest laughs.
When shes not on stage, Mara is usually writing, overthinking, or plotting her next creative misadventure.
Jay Kim Actor (Peter, Little Phil) Jay is a Korean-American actor from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He took a couple of intro improv classes at IO Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He enjoys comedy, but is looking to broaden his horizons and become a more versatile actor. He shot a short film last summer, First Edition, which is currently being submitted to festivals. He is currently training with Michael Petted at the Hudson Theatre and hopes to continue his pursuit of acting full time.
Jingbei Bai Actor - Understudy (Peter, Little Phil)
Mai Yang Actor (Jen) Mai Yang trained in the Theater program at USC, where she performed in the schools first full Asian cast production. One of her favorite projects, Likes, was selected at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024. She has performed in bilingual musicals and worked as a voice actor in both the U.S. and China, bringing her voice to projects from video games to Apple commercials. After spending much of her recent time in film, Mai is thrilled to be back in front of a live audience and share these uniquely human and deeply truthful stories with you.
Mikayla Lew Actor (Vivian) Mikayla Lew is a Virginia raised and LA based actor excited to make her LA stage debut. You can typically find her working on short films, the 48hr film festival every summer, and in her room filming self tapes with her mom on FaceTime. S/O to Dee for bringing AAPI stories to the stage!
Nina Rancel Actor/Stage Manager (Rose) Nina Rancel is an award-winning Venezuelan actress. She trained with Flo S. Greenberg at the Actors Workshop in NYC, under renowned filmmaker Elia K. Schneider in Caracas and Los Angeles and at UCB and The Second City Hollywood. Nina has worked in film, television and theater in the U.S., Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia and Spain. She's been doing stand up comedy for 13 years and she has two Comedy Central LatAm specials. Her solo show "Brick by Brick" recently completed a successful run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival where it received 6 nominations.
Nick Enea Actor (Dirk, Tom) Originally from San Jose, Nick Enea took the scenic route to LA: a BFA from UC Santa Barbara, a few stamps on the passport, and plenty of roles that taught him how to listen louder than he speaks. Nick is a proud member of Arts for Change, a nonprofit touring troupe that brings Holocaust education to schools and the public through the play SURVIVORS by Wendy Kout. He recently performed at local theaters including La Mirada Theatre, and Long Beach Shakespeare, as well as internationally with the Verona Shakespeare Fringe Festival in Italy and Prague Shakespeare Company in the Czech Republic.
