What makes you YOU? In this shorts program, youll discover not only what makes each of us unique on the outside and inside. Whether that means were brave, a little unsure of ourselves, or still figuring all that out, this program will guide you on a path of self-discovery and change.
Films in This Program Include:
The Boogey & The Witch (Jorge Turell, 2024, Spain, 5:25, in Spanish with English subtitles) Boogey, a kid that is always wearing costumes, and Mildred, a witch that desires to be pretty, they both go simultaneously inside another dimension where their obsessions will become their worst nightmare.
Baseball Blues (Sadie Coelho, 2024, Canada, 2:21, in English) In this stop motion short, a young baseball player overcomes parental pressures and learns the value of sportsmanship and friendship.
Little Hot Water Bottle (Yuliana Brutti, 2024, Argentina, 8:13, no dialogue) Catalina discovers that what she thought would be the most boring night of her life, becomes the best adventure of all time. The relationship with her grandmother opens the door to a wonderful world in the shape of a giant red hot water bottle.
Boy Cut (Cullen Burt, Abby Corbett, Indira Escobar, and Shon Xiao, 2024, United States, 3:22, in English) Something as simple as a haircut can mean so much to one person. This animated documentary tells the story of a childs desire to control their own appearance.
The Lonely Life of Lint (Sarah Sklar, 2024, United States, 3:50, no dialogue) In the dryer vent of the corner laundromat, a solitary lint creature makes its home. One night, while cleaning the lint trap, the creature makes an unexpected discovery. Filled with a newfound awareness of its own isolation, the creature embarks on a quest for companionship.
Waves (Emma K. Lowrey, 2024, United States, 9:35, in English) Two brother snails face the ups and downs of their relationship when a day at the beach leads to peril.
Eyes () (Hyokyoung NAM and Yoojae CHOI, 2024, Republic of Korea, 13:46, no dialogue) There is a child called Wilson born with only one eye congenitally. Bright and positive, Wilson, who enjoyed drawing, becomes afraid of drawing due to repeated bullying by school kids. One day, Wilson discovers a strange creature in the school backyard and is led into a forest where unexpected events happen.
Atomic Chicken (Thibault Ermeneux, Lucie Lyfoung, Solène Polet, Capucine Prat, Morgane Siriex, and Anna Uglova, 2024, France, 5:04, no dialogue) A chicken coop set up at the foot of a nuclear power plant sees its daily life turned upside down by a series of comic, cartoon-style mutations.
Mr. Slumber (Zuzana Matysová, 2024, Czech Republic, 3:20, no dialogue) Mr. Slumber comes to town every evening to give its residents much-needed rest. But sometimes a person does not appreciate Slumbers services and would much rather spend time watching soap operas instead of sleeping.
Birds of a Feather (Katie Cobos, 2024, United States, 4:44, in English) A talkative parrot attempts to befriend a boy with Tourettes syndrome.
Dear My Bear (Minjeong Kim, 2024, Republic of Korea, 4:18, in Korean with English subtitles) There is a bear alone in the camper van. He sees yellow tomatoes from a nearby garden and recalls making caprese with his grandfather who raised him when he was young. He makes caprese for his late father before leaving the camper van.
Is Anybody Out There? (Lauren Critchley, 2024, United Kingdom, 3:44, in English) Humans are sending another rover to Mars. Whilst there, Perseverance meets the other rovers setting out to do the same, but years pass, and he becomes the last rover remaining. His battery is low, and its getting dark but he finally completes his mission when he is recovered by alien life.
Disarmed (Sarah Smith, 2024, United States, 3:09, no dialogue) A lonely, broken robot finds an opossum while wandering an expansive wasteland. The robot thinks he must replace his broken parts in order to take care of his new companion, but then learns that a person doesnt need to be perfect to be a good friend.
