Digging Deeper: Clinical Diagnosis in Practice for Children, Adolescents, and Adults.
Join us for a professional development workshop. We will provide practical steps for Digging Deeper into skills for interviewing individuals to identify symptoms, diagnosing the whole person and identify barriers.
Enjoy a continental breakfast and participate in an opportunity for networking from 9-9:30 a.m. Workshop will provide 1.5 CEUs.
Presented by: Heather Fisher, LCPC Mental Health Clinical Outpatient Supervisor
Heather is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor that has been with Rosecrance since 2016. Heather earned her bachelors degree in psychology from Eastern Illinois University and her Masters in Community Counseling from Argosy University, Chicago. Heather has worked with McHenry County non-for profits as a therapist since 2013 and has worked in community mental health since 2008. Heather has experience working with adults and children who experience depression, anxiety, PTSD, and life transition and interpersonal relationship problems. Heather is an ally to LGBTQ+ individuals and provides a gender affirming environment. Heather has worked with a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, races, religions and cultures. Heather has had the opportunity to work with adults with chronic mental health issues, which has allowed her to have a better understanding of diagnostic criteria such as mania and psychosis.
Heathers therapy style is centered in Rogerian (Person-Centered) therapy which she also brings to her supervision approach. Heather also utilizes CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and takes a trauma informed approach when working with clients in order to meet their needs as they progress and build coping skills to help them achieve healthy goals. Heather is knowledgeable on community resources and is happy to share that information with clients, families, and her teams.
