THURSDAY MAY 8 at 9:00 PM
SEATTLE CABARET FESTIVAL PRESENTS: JULIE CASCIOPPO in "JE M'APPELLE JULIE"
Julie Cascioppo lends her glamour, grit, and doe-eyed insouciance to a musical tour of the City of Light. The iconic Seattleite sings about her bohemian life in Paris during La Belle Époch of the nineteen-eighties. Accompanied by pianist Leeran Raphaely.
SEATTLE CABARET FESTIVAL PRESENTS: JOHN ENGERMAN in "MAKE THE MOST OF YOURSELF"
"Make the Most of Yourself" features Engerman and Jayne Muirhead on vocals, Ruby Grynberg on violin, and Dave Pascal on bass. Drawing on Engerman's vast trove of original songs, many of which have never been performed in public before, the show celebrates the process of learning to be self-reliant, to stand up for yourself, learn from your mistakes, and weather the storm.
ABOUT JOHN ENGERMAN John has been writing, arranging, music directing and playing for theatrical productions since the mid-70s. As a composer, highlights include "Ronnie Bwana - Jungle Guide", "The Big Bad Wolf (and How He Got That Way)", "Ming the Rude" (Empty Space Theatre), "The Ballad of Mary Reade" (Bathhouse Theatre), and "Prince Brat and the Whipping Boy" (Seattle Children's Theatre). Cabaret shows featuring his arrangements of others' tunes include revues about Nat Cole, Duke Ellington, Rosemary Clooney, The Fabulous Sateens, The Sirens of Swing, and numerous one-woman shows with his wife, the fabulous Jayne Muirhead.
Showtime: 9:00 PM. Doors open at 8:30.
