SWS Winter Musical: Once Upon a Mattress
Seattle Waldorf School presents: Once Upon a Mattress!
This classic 1959 Broadway adaptation of "The Princess and the Pea" is a fun and hilarious retelling of the beloved fairytale but with a few twists, like a moat-swimming princess named Fred, a mute King, an overbearing and devious Queen, and a whole court of quirky characters. Twelve girls come to the castle hoping to wed Prince Dauntless, each one a true princess. But for one reason or another, each one is found to be unsuitable by the Queen. All of the knights and ladies are frustrated, because of the Queen's new "marriage law": "No one may wed 'til Dauntless to the altar's led". When Sir Harry goes on a perilous journey and brings back an unconventional Princess, everyone pitches in to help her win the Prince's hand.
Good for all ages.
