The Mendocino Coast Mushroom Club is pleased to present our first annual Fungi Festival and Cultural Convergence on November 16 and 17, 2024 at the fabulous Caspar Community Center and points beyond.
MCMC is bringing together poets, authors, artists, craftspeople, farmers, foragers, chefs, land stewards, guides and the myco-curious in a two day cultural convergence to explore and celebrate mushrooms and their many uses. Our incredibly talented and creative locals will be joined by two nationally known authors, Eugenia Bone and Art Goodtimes, to share their stories and knowledge with you. We are honored to have Xa Kako Dile open and close the festival with a special cultural ceremony. Delicious dining options will be available on-site by Petite Percebes and next door at Good Bones Kitchen. The festival will feature a vendor marketplace where you will find mushroom-themed goods of all kinds for sale. Various activities and workshops will happen throughout the festival, in addition to engaging presentations and exhibits. There will be something for everyone, so bring the family.
The festival is a fundraiser for the Mendocino Coast Mushroom Club, an economic boost for our community, and a showcase for the rich diversity of expression within our coastal community in praise and support of fungi and the natural world. The event is all volunteer-run, as is the club. All club proceeds will be used to fund future club events that promote awareness of the many ways in which mushrooms enhance our lives.
Tickets are $35 per person, per day. Discounts are available for MCMC club members and youth, and free tickets are available for children under 12. Tickets are available on-line through Brown Paper Tickets in advance, with tickets at the door, if still available.
If tickets are still available, they will be CASH or CHECK-only at the door.
The club will also have a special logo t-shirt along with other merch available for sale at the festival. Please bring CASH or CHECK as we do not have the ability to take credit cards or online payments.
Please bring cash if you wish to buy food or wares from the many local vendors. It's good for the vendors, cell reception may be spotty/nonexsitent and we don't want you to miss out!
