Ocrafolk Opry 2023

Ocrafolk Opry 2023 teams up Ocracoke's Martin Garrish with Gary Mitchell and Fiddler Dave of Molasses Creek as well as special guests. Each week they host a music show featuring a variety of folk, Americana, bluegrass and roots music. The show runs straight through 8-9:15 without an intermission.

Martin Garrish
Since he was a teenager, Ocracoke Heritage award winner Martin Garrish has been at the heart of the music scene here on the island, fronting bands such as "The Ocracoke Rockers", "The Graveyard Band Revived", and his acoustic ensemble Martin and Friends". His exceptional guitar playing and rich voice covers everything from acoustic folk and bluegrass to hard rock, classic country and blues.

Molasses Creek's Gary Mitchell & Fiddler Dave Tweedie
Since 1993, Gary Mitchell and Fiddler Dave Tweedie have been at the heart of Ocracoke's own Molasses Creek, giving high-energy performances and heartfelt songwriting has brought the love of their coastal home to the stage. The band's elegant harmonies and arrangements, stellar songwriting, blazing instrumentals, and quirky sense of humor have won loyal followers throughout the United States and around the world. Molasses Creek has recorded 17 albums and are award winners from Garrison Keillor's `A Prairie Home Companion.'
