St. Andrews Episcopal Church is offering a one-day spiritual retreat to the public on Living Contemplatively on Saturday, January 21 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This can be a complicated time of the year for many people. The retreat provides ways to help clear away the stuff of life. People of every, and no, faith are invited, and we will offer a contemplative communion at the end of the day for those who wish it.
The Rev. Lynn Perkins will share practices including an introduction to silence, body prayer, and openness to nature as contemplative prayer. Attendees are invited to arrive around 9:00 am for coffee and snacks in the parish hall before the retreat itself begins.
A Flagstaff resident, Perkins is a retired Episcopal priest and graduate of the Shalem Institute's Spiritual Guidance program and Transforming Community program.
Registration is $10 through Brown Paper Tickets. Snacks and drinks are provided, but attendees should bring their own bag lunches. For more information contact the Rev. Perkins through St. Andrews at 928-282-4457, office@saint-andrews.org.
