FOLKNRAW feat. Emily Yates & Eleanor Goldfield
Seventeen years ago, the U.S. decided to bomb Iraq because George W. Bush needed a legacy and Dick Cheney needed more money. Emily Yates was part of the war and Eleanor Goldfield protested it  now they've come together to sing, snark, and story about it, nearly two decades after it all began.

Emily Yates  emilyyatesmusic.com  is an emphatically self-proclaimed Eventual Ukulele Superstar with high aspirations and low expectations. She spent the first part of her adult life as an Army public affairs minion, writing heartwarming news stories about the Iraq War to help build fellow soldiers morale. After her release from the military in 2008, she learned to play the ukulele, and inevitably merged her dual passions for writing and music. Quickly realizing this would be the best way to get her many opinions out to the world, she set to work writing dozens of ditties and playing them for unsuspecting strangers, who luckily were (usually) delighted. In 2012 she recorded her first album, Ive Got Your Folk Songs Right Here, a fun romp through a full spectrum of ideas ranging from human decency to sexual expression to foreign policy. She released her second album, Folk In Your Face, in 2014, has three new albums of original material  personal, political, and parodical respectively  forthcoming in 2020, and now travels all over the country spreading joy and disillusionment with her songs and stories.

Eleanor Goldfield  artkillingapathy.com  is a creative activist, and journalist. She is the founder and host of the show, Act Out! which airs on Free Speech TV as well as in podcast form. She is also the co-host of the podcast Common Censored along with Lee Camp. Her articles and her shows cover people and topics which corporate media either censor or misrepresent. She works in a variety of mediums and her performances blend music, spoken word and visual projections. Besides speaking and performing, she assists in local action organizing and activist training. She is currently based in Washington, DC.
