Movement of Intimacy January 26th Solos, Duets, and Trios
Please join us on Saturday January 26th at 8pm at Factory ArtSpace in Ridgewood, Queens for the Movement of Intimacy Series. This will be the third and final evening at Factory ArtSpace (16-30 Stephen Street). The evening will feature primarily solos, duets, and trios that communicate intimacy, connection, and perception. Michelle Thompson Ulerich, choreographer and presenter, will showcase a few pieces including a premiere with live music by Ryan Wolfe. Also on the program will be a dance film choreographed and performed by Sherah Shipman and Joy-Marie Thompson. This film, TONGUE TIED SHREWS is a performance and film investigating two feminine bodies being bound by a hair tie. The evening will also feature the work of Serena Chang. Her work deals with the idea of circumstance through the viewpoints of three characters in a changing time and space. This dance comments on how quickly events can be changed and shaped to be perceived in a certain light. And finally, Michelle is very excited to present the A/Y Dancers in a work called "Sour" by Hannah Garner (of Hannah Garner's 2nd Best Dance Company). A-Y/dancers is a repertory dance company based in New Yorks Hudson Valley that presents professional modern and contemporary dance through performances and public educational programs. Led by Sienna Blaw, Claire Deane and Erin Landers, the company presents programs that span the history of concert dance and provide audiences with experiences of classical modern dance, acclaimed contemporary dance, and groundbreaking emerging choreography. They are committed to serve, educate, and grow the dance audience in the Hudson Valley's already burgeoning artistic community.
