GEORGE SALTZ's BIRTHDAY BLAST at COMIC STRIP LIVE
It will be a very special evening as some of New Yorks top comics come to celebrate GEORGE SALTZ's birthday at COMIC STRIP LIVE on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 7:30 PM.
Show tickets are easily available through Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets are $20 each, with a two-item minimum purchase.
After having a successful 40-year career as a clinical psychologist, GEORGE SALTZ came out of retirement to try doing stand-up. He was nearly 80 years old, but the passion had always been there. On March 28, 2014, his story was featured in the Daily News. Whether talking about his early childhood in an Orthodox family, or his work as a psychotherapist, or his observations and encounters with much younger comics, George is a clear crowd-pleaser with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. He is frequently featured at COMIC STRIP LIVE as well as other major comedy clubs in New York and the region. Today he celebrates his 84th birthday and fourth year of performing stand-up comedy.

GLADYS SIMON is a Comedy Legend who has mentored the nation's top comics for decades. Gladys has worked comedy clubs across the country and calls COMIC STRIP LIVE her comedy home, where she regularly produces shows right in "Gladys' Room."
ROSS BENNETT, a popular headliner at comedy clubs worldwide, has made countless TV appearances, including The Late Show with David Letterman. From casinos to country clubs, Ross can also be heard on Sirius XMs Comedy Channels.
DAN ALTANO, our Host tonight, is a New York City-based stand-up comic who performs often at COMIC STRIP LIVE, Atlantic City Comedy Club, and Philly Comedy Club. Dan recently appeared in the New York Comedy Festival and regularly performs with the nationally touring comedy group Escape From NY.
TALIA REESE has performed at comedy clubs throughout New York and the region. Currently appearing Off-Broadway in Strictly Unorthodox, Talia is a favorite at the Mohegan Sun and Borgata Casinos.
NATALIE LEVANT started doing stand-up a few years ago when AARP turned her down for membership. A regular performer at comedy clubs throughout the Philadelphia region, Natalie has appeared at Parx Casino, Catch A Rising star and Stress Factory.
BARRY RIBS brings over 20 years of stand-up and acting experience to our show. He has been seen on TV on Laughaholics and in Ashy Larry with Donnell Rawlings. Barry is an Emmy-winner and has performed nationwide in iconic venues including The Apollo Theater and The Comedy Store.
CELESTE JENNINGS, born in New York City and raised in Westchester, she attended college, graduate school and law school in Upstate New York. After living in New York City for 20 years, she and her family moved to the suburbs, giving her plenty of fodder for her stand-up comedy. Celeste has appeared at Stand Up New York, the Emelin Theater, and at COMIC STRIP LIVE.
TERESA DEGAETANO has performed at comedy clubs throughout New York City and the tri-state area, and has been seen on TV on the Wendy Williams Show and Impractical Jokers. Teresa has been heard on Sirius XMs Radio Andy (Cohen) Channel and was a finalist in the She-Devil Festival, featuring top female comedians.
HELAINE WITT has been interested in comedy for years, even while she was teaching inner-city kids in South Jamaica, New York. Helaine has appeared at many comedy clubs in the New York City metro area, including COMIC STRIP LIVE and Broadway Comedy Club, and one of her proudest comedy moments was when Joan Rivers opened with one of her lines on The Tonight Show.
JESSICA SAUL is a popular New York City comedian and actor who grew up in Florida. She has appeared at many New York comedy clubs including COMIC STRIP LIVE, New York Comedy Club, the Stand, Broadway Comedy Club, and the Duplex. Jessica has also performed at the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, Massachusetts.
COMIC STRIP LIVE is the longest running showcase comedy club in the world, having first opened in May 1975. Many comedic legends, including Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, and Eddie Murphy, have acknowledged COMIC STRIP LIVE as the place where they began their careers. The venue continues to nurture the comedy icons of the future, with Gladys Simon, right in Gladyss Room.
