Événement

11/19/17 SOLO SUNDAYS
W H A T    I S    S O L O   P E R F O R M A N C E?
Beyond stand-up and storytelling, solo theater creates casts of thousands - plus special effects - all bursting from a single performer. The results are hilarious and soulful, passionate and provocative, ablaze with personal vision.

ADY LADY
--------------------------------------
"Meditations on MUNI"

Ady desperately wants to love mankind. How is she supposed to do this on Muni? Can a hymn offer salvation? And are we all really reflections of one another or was Deepak lying about that? One thing is certain: a golden shower is not a baptism.

BETH HUIZENGA
-----------------------------------------------
"Help God, I Hear You Hate Me!"

What happens when a pre-pubescent child is shoe-horned into a car with her large family on their way to a "two steps over from being Amish" Calvinist church on a hot humid summer Sunday in NJ? Does the conversation include theological questions like appropriate shirt colors for men, was Jesus good looking, the true meaning of red nail polish and what VD stands for? You bet it does! Religious Inquiry from the Lost and Found section of a Ford Galaxy 500.

BRUCE PACHTMAN
-------------------------------------------------
"50 People Who Look Just Like Me"

The only thing left to do at this point, is sign the contract. Bruce  just needs to meet with the casting directorwhich hes about to dobut thats just a formality.  Even if the movie goes straight to video, he will be set for a long, long time.

ELIZA GIBSON
-------------------------------------------------------------
"BRAVO 25: YOUR A.I. THERAPIST WILL SEE YOU NOW"

Tension is escalating in the group, no one is using "I" statements. Amber, the A.I. avatar therapist intervenes: "I think it's time to return to our breath. Is everyone ready?" Jeremy thinks some breathing would be pretty great right about now. Marsha will do whatever Amber says because Amber never asks her to talk about her mother. Tony doesn't want to breathe...EVER. Amber won't be returning to her breath. She's an avatar, on a t.v. screen. And avatars, well, they can't breathe.
