As Was Written

As Was Written is an evening of poetry, prose and song. It's happening Saturday, March 13 in the historic Lyceum in Alexandria, VA. The show starts at 8:30 pm.

Taking to the mic is a handpicked lineup of young writers reading aloud their original material. This diverse group has up and comers alongside published authors. A special musical set will be performed by Stacy Clark.

As Was Written (formerly known as Words Aloud) is quickly becoming the leading literary stage in Alexandria. The series started one year ago in a packed living room in Old Town. Its latest installments have snowballed in popularity. This event is purely about the beauty of writing in all of its forms.

Food will be provided by local dessert artist Mike Davis.
