CD release of Dig - songs and poems by Deidre Randall
Local cultural catalyst, songwriter, poet and publisher Deidre Randall is at it again, with the release of Dig, her third CD of original music. The new album will be released and celebrated on December 6, 2014 at The Dance Hall in Kittery, Maine.

Randall was the Best Folk Artist of 2000 in Spotlight's Reader's Choice Awards back in the day. Then she fell in love, married, and took time out to have a second family. Dig is the culmination of many years of writing, plus two years in the crafting with three producers; Marc McElroy, Guy Capecelatro III and Chris O'Neill, collaborating and guiding Randall along the path.

"I had continued writing songs over the years since my last CD came out, so I had material I wanted to share and I wanted a collaborative process for the production. In the past I wasn't always sure what I wanted, but this time I had ideas! I am grateful to Marc and Guy for bringing those ideas to fruition, or helping me to gently 'kill my darlings' when an idea just didn't work. Chris played incredible guitar and he got the base band together. They laid down a comfortable bed for what came later. I am really proud of this album, both the songs and the two poems we included. I can't wait to share it in the live concert at The Dance Hall," said Randall.

On Saturday, December 6, a full band will be on hand with Randall, including Marc McElroy, Guy Capecelatro III, Jim Rioux, Adam Kelley, Thomas D'Amour and many special guests.Dig includes ten songs and two poemswritten, or co-written by Randall. The title track Dig was first heard by moviegoers in 2011, when it was included in the soundtrack for Farming 101, a film on local dairy farms created by Randall's father, Peter.
