Chamber Project St. Louis presents a "French Connection"

Experience an evening of exquisite chamber music with harp at our first in a series of concerts at The Chapel. Harpist, Megan Stout, joins CPSTL to play an evening of chamber music inspired by the "city of light." Imagine sitting in a Paris bistro at night in candle light, sipping on wine with the music of revolution, beauty and love, rising through the night air. CPSTL is excited to present the French master Claude Debussy in a performance of one of the last works he ever composed, the Sonata No. 2 for flute, viola and harp (1915) composed during World War I. Reflecting the influence of the musical style of Debussy, the same trio will play Arnold Bax's Elegiac Trio (1916) a song of the pain Irish Easter Revolution and the love for ones now lost. The program also includes the French composer Ida Gotkovsky and her unique Eolienne for Harp and Saxophone (1970) and reaching back to the French classical era, Francois Devienne, the French Mozart, with a duo for Flute and Viola.

Chamber Project St. Louis is comprised of Jennifer Gartley, flute, Dana Hotle, clarinet, Laura Reycraft, viola, Adrianne Honnold, saxophone, and will be joined by Megan Stout, harp. From the elegant refinement of the classical era to the experimental soundscapes of some of the most intellectually and emotionally engaging composers working today, CPSTL takes profound delight in our work, inviting audiences to inhabit the music with us rather than experience it from afar.

Our season highlights from The Chapel will include, January 29th "Multilingual" and March 26th, "Distinctive Sounds."
