Double Take Fringe Festival- tickets on sale tonight on the Common at 6 pm - plenty for you!
We are so excited to share our 2014 line up with you. We have almost finished lining up venues and schedules will be out soon. Tickets are $20 and are good for the whole weekend. Young people under 15 are FREE!! When you get to the festival come to the ticket table on the Town Common and we will give you a map that guides you to all the shows! Linda McInerney will be there to show you the ropes. All the shows are between 30-45 minutes long so you can see a few a night!
1. The Can of Yams, by Jonathan Caws-Elwitt
Witty repartee and farcical antics drive this tale of an egotistical and ambitious painter, his sardonic and level-headed sister, and the influential gallery owner who pays them a surprise visit. There's only one thing standing between Alan Plum and the fame he craves, and it's the cherished object at the center of his unfinished masterpiecea can of yams!

2. Have You Seen Charlie? by Stephanie Carlson
Passport Theatre Company presents a premiere production of Stephanie Carlson's new short play, HAVE YOU SEEN CHARLIE? Based on a true story, an old school farmer meets his match when Charlie the cat comes to visit. A poignant comedy about family, farms and felines.

Enter an old growth forest in New England, mystical, majestic and enter a Brazilian rainforest, misty, humid and resplendent with color, simultaneously... >SCREECH-- REWIND....!!< Is this a past we can barely remember or is there still time to recover the beauty and diversity of creatures? Has progress and the pursuit of money- casinos, products, urban sprawl- taken over? Come see for yourself, from the sometimes hilarious points of view from iconic fairy tale forest characters; talk show hosts; live on the scene news; and the animals who inhabit these places...you may be one of them! A unique improv fairy tale musical in which YOU play a part. Great for families

4. Abaga (The Future) by Torange Yeghiazarian - Silverthorne Theater
Abaga (The Future) tells the story of two sets of lovers torn apart by the ethnic turmoil that has characterized much of middle Eastern history. Why do the experiences of repression and prejudice by one generation not lead to better understanding and tolerance of the next one? How can we break the cycles of violence that tear apart whole populations? Torange Yeghiazarian's short play addresses but does not answer these wrenching questions.

5. Like Mary Oliver by Greg Josslyn
When a lonely retiree discovers the world's most famous poet, her rigid outlook on life changes drastically, giving her a second chance at fate. Greg Josselyn guides you through a story about devastatingly lyrical desires with nods to film noir, mystery, and bad poetry in a serene evening of mindful catastrophes.

6. Sweet Slice of Life!
Lori Holmes Clark and Company present new choreography with "Sing a Song of Sixpence..." as a jumping off point. With both dance and dessert explored and enjoyed during the performance, this is indeed a Sweet Slice of Life!

7. Feeding the Moonfish by Barbara Wiechmann with Northampton High School Students.
Feeding the Moonfish focuses on the hypnotic push and pull of human relationships. Dark, dreamy, and poetic, the play explores the tenuous relationship between two young people isolated by trauma who find themselves together at the edge of a saltwater lake in the dead of night.

8. That New Play, by Stephen Wangh, directed by Chris Rohmann.
As the house lights dim, Edith and Abe take their seats. She's eager to enjoy the next Fringe show on their program, he's wishing they'd stayed home. A smart, strange, howlingly funny new play that turns the theatergoing experience inside out literally.
