The Past, The Present and The Future: A dinner chronicling the career of owner/chef of the Seattle restaurant of the year!
Here at The VUDE, we believe food is art and in this case, delicious art! Join us for a very special retrospective (and look ahead) dinner soiree presented by award winning Chef Sam Crannell here at the VUDE on September 14th, 6pm.

"The Past, The Present, and the Future" will take you through an 8 course tasting of Chef Crannell's most interesting and favorite dishes from when he was just starting out, his current favorite dishes, and a sneak peek at menu items to come. Each course will be paired with wines including the brand new Hand Of God 'White Blend,' libations, and a special opening cocktail developed by the Chef himself.

WE HAVE NEVER SHOWN OFF A CHEF'S CAREER IN THIS WAY, NOR HAVE WE EVER SEEN A CHEF SO EXCITED TO PRESENT HIS LIFE IN 8 AMAZING CHAPTERS(OK, COURSES!)

More about Chef Sam Crannell of Lloyd Martin:

Chef-Owner Sam Crannell's dream of opening a neighborhood restaurant comes to fruition with Lloyd Martin, the head turning Queen Anne destination. Receiving notable reviews from the cities best critics, Lloyd Martin was awarded "Best New Restaurant" 2012 from Seattle Weekly and "Best New Neighborhood Restaurant" 2012 from Seattle magazine.

Sam's deep passion for inventing new dishes started at a young age of 13. Perfecting pizza recipes and later bartending at a local Yacht Club, his knowledge and interest for the culinary field began to prosper. His professional journey commenced with training from The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in 2002, a Le Cordon Bleu affiliate. Following completion, Sam immediately put his knowledge and passion to use working as sous chef from 2002-2003 at Atlantique, Chicago Magazine's Best New Restaurant of 2000. Spanning from 2003-2009, Sam worked at several neighborhood restaurants around the Seattle area, including Bon Appetit's top gastro-tavern in 2009, Quinn's Pub, before taking the head chef position at Oddfellows Café and Bar. At Oddfellows, he began to enjoy the intimacy of smaller neighborhood restaurants, feeling a closer connection to his guests and being inspired by the creativity the kitchen afforded him.

Sam is conscious of every detail at his restaurant, including the plates that his food is served on. Each unique dish comes from Sam's chosen hand while antique shopping, one of his favorite hobbies. A culmination of his vintage finds, inspirations from childhood memories and the appreciation for local nature and fresh produce allow Sam to impress his audience time and time again.
