Autumn Ward Workshops

Star belly dancer Autumn Ward infuses impeccable technique with poetry and magic. A lifelong dancer, Autumn has been working professionally in belly dance since 1999.

Initially focusing on Oriental dance and theatrical Middle-Eastern folklore, Autumn began to work in artistic theatrical belly dance in 2006, developing a diverse body of groundbreaking unorthodox work alongside her repertoire of traditional dances. She is especially known for precision in lyrical dance, and detail-oriented work developed for video and the theater stage. Autumn has contributed performances to many DVDs, including IAMED's "Sixth Awards of BellyDance" (2003), and Fantasy Bellydance (World Dance New York, 2009).

Autumn is a master instructor, with thousands of hours of classroom teaching experience. She teaches clean versatile foundation technique, adaptable to traditional, tribal, and fusion styles, and, emphasizing purpose and integrity, promotes belly dance as an artistic medium for individually-authentic self-expression. Autumn was a faculty member at Washington DC's largest dance school, Joy of Motion Dance Center, from 1999-2002, has been teaching independently in New York City since relocating in 2002, and travels internationally as a workshop presenter. Autumn's instructional-reference DVDs "Beautiful Technique from Step One" (2009) and "Travel Steps" (2011) are among the most comprehensive informational programs ever available to students and teachers of belly dance.
