The Sword Of Peace historical outdoor drama by William Hardy

Now in it's 41st Season, The Sword of Peace is a dramatic portrayal of the American Revolution. It enlightens the audience to the struggles the peaceful Quakers must face in a time of war. General Nathanael Greene, 2nd in command under General George Washington, is about to meet Lord Cornwallis, Commander of the British Forces in America, at the battle of Guilford Courthouse. Simon Dixon, a Quaker miller is faced with an important decision like that of his neighbors, take up arms and fight or remain true to his faith. Simon and other historical characters reveal their heart-torn decisions as you witness this exciting, action-packed dramatic tribute to the Quakers.

Portions of the plot of this show are based on real historical events and people that occurred on the banks of Cane Creek right around the corner from this magical venue under the stars. The action packed show includes live animals, wonderful singing, battle scenes, and even comedy!

OUR RAIN POLICY: Come to the theatre anyway! We never cancel a show before 9 pm, but in the rare event the show is canceled due to rain, you may redeem your ticket for another performance this year or in future years simply by calling our Box Office. No refunds will be issued.

Come early to enjoy for dinner at Ye Old Country Kitchen across the parking lot from the theatre. If you have extra time before the gates open, pick up a self-guided tour book at the box office and look around the historic structures and interesting artifacts on the grounds outside the theatre.
