VIP Pre-show reception
August 9 6pm
This fun and unique program features a diverse mix of raw, wild and rowdy poets, musicians and performance artists. Underground/Outlaw at its best. Presented by The Literary Underground, a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting and promoting marginalized voices, offering a point of view under-represented in mainstream literature. Poetry without pretension. Featuring music by the band Flamingo and an after-party in the Legacy Lounge.
Those scheduled to read, with more being added, are Ron Whitehead (Kentucky), Ryder Collins (Wisconsin), Craig Cady (New York), Bill Gainer and A. Razor (California), T.A. Noonan (Tennessee), Brian W. Fugett (Ohio), Ryan Snellman (Washington) and Carleen Tibbitts, Russell Jaffe and Michele McDannold (Illinois). At the conclusion of the program, an after-party will be held in the lower level Legacy Lounge. At the conclusion of the program, an after-party will be held in the lower level Legacy Lounge.
The THIS IS POETRY event is free. Tickets here are for the VIP Pre-show reception, which features a "meet 'n' greet" featuring the poets, and drag queen-led karaoke in the lower level Legacy Lounge. A nominal ticket fee of $15 will include a copy of "This Is Poetry Volume I: Women of the Small Press."
