I have a bit of a strange fascination with catching up-and-coming artists at tiny clubs before they potentially hit the big time. A few weeks back, I arrived at New York City's Rockwood Music Hall after about an hour and a half of walking when the Apple Maps app gave me the most roundabout and indirect route to get from the Bleecker St subway station to the venue to catch Aaron Lee Tasjan, a new artist of whom I had caught wind after being sent the live video for his single Don't Walk Away.

Combining the essential aspects of the best Bob Dylan songs with the electric performance of Jack White, ALT stood out to me instantly. I learned that aside from being a solo artist, he also has worked with artists like Semi Precious Weapons, NY Dolls, BP Fallon, Sean Lennon, and more. In fact, he co-wrote the song I Believe in Elvis Presley with BP Fallon, which ultimately went on to be produced by Jack White and released via Third Man Records. If you couldn't tell, even though you may not have heard the name ALT yet, you definitely will soon.
